Calma. Que nadie se escandalice. Es el título de la canción de la que hablo y que se puede escuchar al final de este artículo.
El caso es que sigo con mis incursiones en el recuerdo, rescatando para iTunes mis años jóvenes. Hoy le ha tocado el turno a un disco de John Lennon, uno de mis referentes por aquellos tiempos.
De un disco que nunca tuve completo, un doble LP, —creo que anda por ahí rodando todavía el vinilo del single con dos temas—, escuchaba con mezcla de admiración por la música y desconcierto por el título este tema, Woman is the nigger of the world. Hoy que lo he escuchado de nuevo después de muchos años, he tenido curiosidad por saber qué decía exactamente la letra (ya se sabe que localizar hoy día la letra de una canción es lo más simple y asequible gracias al milagro Internet). Como suele ocurrir en estos casos, estaba preparado para la peor sorpresa y decepción.
Pues no.
Y ha sido tal el impacto de una letra de mil-no-ve-cien-tos-se-ten-ta-y-dos, que no he podido evitar compartirla en estas modestas páginas. Es un inglés sencillito y asequible. Sorprendente.
